Abstract

Teacher education candidates enrolled in the "Technology in the Classroom" course apply facilitation strategies in a pedagogical lab as they teach a language arts iMovie unit. The movie making process creates a rich environment for publishing the students' creative writing. It provides candidates with an opportunity to teach effectively with technology and enables them to reflect on technology's impact on student growth. The experience encourages candidates to question their prior concepts related to teaching and learning as they reflect on the impact of technology on learning. This paper describes the candidate's experience as they work through a language arts iMovie unit, learn facilitation strategies, and create a video-based collaborative reflection.
