Abstract

Middle school mathematics teachers require support as they attempt to integrate technology into their instructional practice. Based on data from a year four-year middle school technology and mathematics project involving more than 300 teachers, the authors present how some professional development activities have proved to be particularly effective in enabling teachers to grow in terms of their use of technology. Such information is essential when it comes to understanding teachers' behaviors (including the use or non-use of available technologies), sequencing professional development, and creating conducive learning environments.
