Abstract

This brief paper is a report on the web font project we have completed this year. The project is a support to the correct displaying of standard Hong Kong Chinese fonts on computer screens. In this paper, we will have a brief look on the different standards of traditional Chinese, and see why the differences of fonts can affect learning through computers or other mobile devices. At the final part, we will explore the possible solution of web fonts that may help to solve this problem by creating free font files for fonts embed webpages. The project also shows that with the help of open sources software, minorities or regional preference can still survive in the internet era.
