Abstract
Abstract: This paper updates research findings on the 2006 SITE presentation, a multi-modal technology project investigating the role of technology in teaching literature and preparing teachers. A middle school team, university students, and professors explored The Outsiders (S.E. Hinton) through high-tech, response-based curriculum integration activities to determine the impact on student learning and teacher development. Analysis revealed that music, video, and online research engaged students, enhanced literature study, and effectively linked curriculum integration. Middle school students were found to be powerful learning partners in teacher preparation. Multi-modal technology provided a critical nexus for learning through multiple intelligences.
