Abstract

Because preparing manuals electronically is a growing requirement for technical writing professionals, and because technical writers now often work concurrently with illustrators, designers, engineers, and other project professionals, the question remains as to how illustrations and call-out figures can be realized without impeding writing instruction. Using a desktop computer and adapting some software solutions, students can produce “professional” engineering diagrams and competent instructions.
