Abstract

This proposed study aims to investigate the barriers to ICT adoption for Chinese Language teachers in U.S. universities. It examines the issues related to ICT integration that have been addressed in previous literature and experienced in current Chinese programs. A mixed research method including a survey and interviews was conducted to elicit Chinese teachers’ opinions. It is expected that the findings will encourage Chinese language teachers to think critically about the barriers they have had or that they may have to integrating instructional technology in their classroom, and provide some possible strategies to mitigate the observed obstacles to using instructional technologies in classroom settings.
