Abstract

Creativity is an integral part of learning and human development. In this presentation we reframe the concept of creativity within the context of teacher education grounded upon existing definitions of creativity. Further explore the potential that current computer technology offers for developing creative thinking skills among teacher learners. We identify key components of creativity in teacher education as personal characteristics, pedagogy, context, collaboration, and creative practice. And conceptualize creativity in teacher education is manifested in the interaction of the key components. We described attributes of each of the five components with illustration. Also we determine four key processes in which technology may take a significant role in developing creativity: expression, communication, collaboration, and knowledge management. Finally discussed implications of use of technology in teacher education.
