Abstract

This session will showcase a successful experience of completely online graduate programs in Instructional Technology at Wayne State University, USA. The success of the program may be observed in extremely low dropout rates. Information about the program curricula, student profile, online learning environments, and communication technologies, learning activities, multimedia learning materials, learner testimonials, examples and demonstrations will be shared with attendants to illustrate how the program strives to achieve lively, engaging learning via online distance education with adult learners. The discussions will also address topics such as how to address varied learner needs and characteristics in a virtual environment, how may instructors use some of the freely available technologies to facilitate online teaching and learning, and more.
