The purpose of this paper presentation is to discuss and demonstrate to classroom teachers, administrators, and parents about how vocabulary can be effectively taught virtually to learners who are struggling with literacy skills (spelling, reading, and reading comprehension). Most importantly, fun and interesting hands-on activities for literacy learning can be achieved on the e-platform by exercising teachers’ content knowledge of language teaching and creativity for instructional practice with the use of video-conferencing/zoom and free online resources. Vocabulary associated with phonological awareness is most essential to build literacy skills, such as reading, spelling and reading comprehension. This paper presentation is therefore focused on vocabulary teaching.
