The impact of Distance Learning for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students during the COVID-19 pandemic in Thailand

The Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) has spread globally, including Thailand, and schools were enforced switch traditional learning to distance learning. Distance learning has become a primary option during the pandemic. However, Deaf and Hard of Hearing students (DHH) require specific learning strategies via oral and/or sign language to access the Education. This research paper base on question of what the challenge are that teachers faced while teaching DHH remotely during the pandemic in Thailand. Data were collected from Deaf lecturers who taught DHH students using distance learning tools during the COVID-19 pandemic. Digital device, Time, Technical problems, and lack of concurrent among the barriers that need to address the learning needs of this group of students. Thus, this article explores the current situation – distance learning at school during COVID-19 and its Deaf lectures experience and potential effective distance learning instructional teaching recommendation to further research and development on this field.
