Abstract

The goal of our three-year Preparing Tomorrow's Teachers to Use Technology Grant is to prepare technologically proficient teachers to teach in urban classrooms by addressing the intersection of content, pedagogy, and technology. One of our objectives is to continue to expand technology integration support for our students and graduates throughout the critical student teaching and induction phases through the design, development, and evaluation of an online support environment for novice teachers, and teacher support specialists/mentors. This presentation will briefly describe the context, rationale (including an overview of selected instructional design models for technology integration), and a conceptual model for an activity planning tool that will help address this objective.
