This paper reports on an initiative to restructure the field experience component to support the integration of technology into field experiences through a K-12/university partnership. The field experience component involves many elements and close coordination with the local school district. Implementing rapid changes in this placement process poses challenges to planners and coordinators. Several ongoing projects are described that address systemic changes in the process. Included is information on creating request options for students, revising student handbooks, addressing the development of field supervisors, and providing alternative models for students' field experiences.
