Abstract

This paper is a report on the analysis of English vocabulary learning behaviors based on some inconscient biological data, including a brainwave, a blinking point of time and strength, and physical movements of the smartphone as an indicator of the holding stability. A study was carried out at an early engineering educational college regarding vocabulary learnings in an EFL(English as a Foreign Language) learning using an experimental platform for English vocabulary building named KCCT Vocabulary Builder which is a smartphone based English vocabulary learning application. The objectives of this application are not only to develop the students' vocabulary, but also to analyze the students' learning behaviors. The data accumulated in the course of learning vocabulary has been used to analyze students' learning characteristics statistically. Some analysis of the accumulated data were discussed in connection with students' learning characteristics.
