El efecto del uso del Sistema de Enseñanza EducoSoft durante los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje en el aprovechamiento académico y la actitud hacia las matemáticas

An important detail in education is to make significant changes in the academic achievement and the attitude towards mathematics. This study aims to determine if the use of the EducoSoft Learning System during the processes of teaching and learning, improved academic achievement and the attitude towards mathematics. The study was carried out in a private university in Puerto Rico during the first semester of the academic year 2008-2009.
The design of the study is based on the 2 x 2 factorial models where two independent variables were manipulated, each with two levels of application. Educators with expertise in the area of mathematics and use of technological equipment demonstrated the results of the study.
In the first week of classes, the Scale of Attitudes towards Mathematics and the pretest was offered to five groups. Four groups received treatment and in mid-semester the five groups received the posttest. Then, the five groups solved the Scale of Attitudes towards Mathematics.
The treatment was based in offering the course of Elementary Algebra using the EducoSoft Learning System in two grades of application. Two groups received all the options of EducoSoft, one in a laboratory classroom and one in a traditional classroom. Two groups worked with some use of EducoSoft, one in a laboratory classroom and one in a traditional classroom. Some use of EducoSoft was defined as make use of test and quizzes with the rehearsals obtained from EducoSoft database. The control group did not obtain treatment and took the class in a traditional classroom.
The experience of teaching and learning for groups with treatment were designed using EducoSoft. The Professor that used EducoSoft developed activities that accelerate collaborative learning computer assisted and used techniques and strategies on the constructivist theory and assessment processes. The judgment showed a high significant difference in the academic progress of the group with some use of EducoSoft Learning System in the laboratory classroom, but did not demonstrate attitude towards mathematics. This study suggests using EducoSoft Learning System and a student-educator interaction.
