Abstract

This presentation will review a variety of strategies for enhancing teacher presence and student engagement in online courses. These strategies focus on building a sense of community, helping students to connect with content, peers, and instructors. They will also expand on innovative tools that allow students to actively engage in content through a variety of innovative assignments and emerging technologies, including interactive lessons, voice threads, focused web conferences, authentic discussion board tasks, and audio and video feedback on student assignments.
