Abstract
Adult e-learners have certain characteristics that are not always addressed in the design of on-line instruction and training.This paper examines many of the characterisitcs of adult e-learners and the factors that influence their learning. It discusses how these factors can be addressed when designing and developing an adult e-learning environmentand overcoming the barriers to participation.
